Project Lebanon

In 2012, Karpowership was awarded a 270 MW tender by the Lebanese Electricity Utility (EDL) to provide 2 Powerships. Capacity of existing Powerships were increased on-site upon additional demand for electricity from the off-taker. Currently, EDL board has approved to increase the contract duration and capacity to receive over 370 MW of reliable power from the Powerships.

Project Ghana

Karpowership signed a Power Purchase Agreement with Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) for the supply of 450 MW electric power through Powerships. To serve the initial 225 MW contract, the first Powership has been operating continuously since December 2015. The second Powership arrived in Ghana August 2017 to increase the generation to 450 MW.

Project Iraq (Past Project)

Karpowership had a 410 MW of Powership contract with Iraq, supplying electricity between 2010 and 2016. Iraq holds a unique position for the Power of Friendship Project. Iraq is the first country where Karpowership deployed a Powership, the first country to order additional Powerships after Karpowership’s satisfactory performance, and also, Iraq became the first country to extend its contract terms after initial term was succesfully completed.

Project Indonesia

Karpowership has been awarded a 540 MW tender by the state utility PT PLN (Persero) to supply electricity in 5 different islands of the Indonesian Archipelago for 5 years. The first Powership of the Project started operations in January 2016, the second Powership started operations in December 2016, the third Powership started operations in April 2017, the fourth Powership started operations in June 2017 and the fifth Powership will start operations within 2018.

Project Mozambique / Zambia

The land-locked Zambia is Karpowership’s first cross-border project. In November 2015, Karpowership was awarded a 100 MW tender to supply electricity to Zambia via interconnection lines through Mozambique. The Powership started delivering electricity in March 2016, within four months from contract signing.
